Chiropractor
A lot of chiropractors are out to get your money and turn you into "chronic" patients. If a chiropractor tells you he needs adjustments himself over many years, run away. At most, he can temporarily fix your symptoms but not the root cause.
If your issue is not fixed after a few sessions, it probably will never be fixed or in time the body will heal itself and the chiropractor declares it his win. Pain often goes away after 4-6 weeks on its own.
Chiropractors focus on the spine and getting it back into alignment. Therefore, they do not view the whole picture. For example, they try to adjust your neck because your feet have different length. This is usually due to poor posture and muscular imbalances. When he adjusts the neck, the body gets an impulse to "realign" itself but without fixing the underlying posture or imbalance problem, the body will snap back into the "misalignment".
Time and money is better spent on working on the long term fix, i.e. the posture/imbalance problem. Then the body aligns itself.
Starting point for posture/alignment fixes should be head, jaws and teeth. The body will always try to keep eyes level and all sorts of weird posture problems can arise due to the body adapting.
Chain reactions could be possible like:
-
a new crown causes a slightly off bite which is not even noticeable when biting
-
which causes jaw muscles to work with different forces on each side
-
which causes neck pain and strain
-
which could cause your upper body to twist/rotate
-
which could cause the hip on one side to be pulled up
-
which could cause your other leg to take more of your body weight
-
which could cause your foot to become flatter, big toe to become longer.
The point there is that a seemingly small imbalance at the top can have a large trickle down effect throughout the body.
An adjustment that is not addressing the root cause will bring the body out of the "crooked" balance we are trying to fix but the body will fight it because the "crooked" balance keeps the eyes level which is the number one goal.
